Important Details:

Activity Access Details: Your confirmation email will include details for your individual activity access.

Event Logistics: You as the organizer, are responsible for arranging the meeting location.

About Your Activity:

Participants will break out into teams and use Outback’s web application platform to participate in the Team Pursuit/Random Acts of Kindness activity. With engaging text, photo, and video challenges, you and your team will have the chance to explore the city, bond together, use creative problem-solving skills, and most importantly doing some good in the world to complete challenges.

The concept is simple – your teams will complete as many team pursuit challenges random acts of kindness as possible within the time limit to earn points and climb the leaderboard. They will need to work together in order to complete challenges and submit evidence of their good deeds and challenges completed.

Teams will automatically receive points for completed media challenges. As they are subjective, we rely on teams to complete the challenge as described. The team that racks up the most points by correctly completing challenges will take home the victory!

The activity challenge list is available at the bottom of this page under the resources section.

Prior to Your Activity:

  • Decide your meeting location. Considerations when planning your event:
    • Team leaders will log into Outback’s Web Application via mobile device and submit challenges on behalf of the team. The organizer can also share the challenge list with participants so they can follow along with the team leader. This can be shared via printed copy or link
    • Before introducing the activity, ensure everyone has what is needed to get started, strong Wi-Fi/data signal, a fully charged device and appropriate materials and clothing to participate.

  • Organize your participants into teams. Each team should have between 2-6 people and roughly the same number of people on each team. Small groups could play on one team if preferred.

  • Assign a team leader to each team. The team leader will be the only person signing into the app and submitting challenges on behalf of their team.

  • Communicate event details to your group. Ensure that all participants are aware of meeting location & start time.

Starting Your Activity:

  • Assemble participants in meeting location. Ensure all participants are in meeting area and have a fully charged mobile device and Wi-Fi/data signal before starting the activity

  • Introduce yourself & welcome group. You can use the “Sample Group Intro” in the resources section at the bottom of the page if you’d like. Explain what the activity is, how participants can access challenges and complete them, and the objective of the activity.

  • Instruct team leaders on how to sign into the application. Provide them with sign in details found in your confirmation email. A mobile device is recommended for this activity. Only team leaders require access to the application.

  • Provide your group with the guidelines for what time the activity will conclude and where they will be meeting. Also provide them with your contact information in case they need to reach out with any questions.

  • Have participants break out into teams and start the activity. Let teams know that they can start completing challenges!

During Your Activity:

As the organizer, your role during the activity is as follows:

  • Provide support for teams if they have any questions
  • Provide resources again if requested
  • Review leaderboard & gauge teams’ progress
  • Manage time (IE: 15-minute warning before wrapping up)

App instructions can be found in the resources section at the bottom of this page.

Concluding Your Activity:

  • Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi/data signal so the submitted challenges have a chance to finish loading into the app.

  • Open your Leaderboard to see the final scores for each team.

  • This is a good opportunity to encourage teams to Share any challenges that stood out to them and what they discovered as a result.  You can go through each of the specific causes and talk as a group at the end and even take away some action items to use within your organization and as individuals.

  • Present your teams’ photo and video submissions by opening the Event Wall.

After the event is done, you can download your media by following the Media Download Instructions included in the resources section at the bottom of the page. Enjoy the media submitted by your group!
