Resources for Your Do-Good Games

Below you will find everything you need to help you get started with your activity, including step-by-step app instructions, the activity challenge list, and FAQs.

Important Details:

Activity Access Details: Your confirmation email will include details for your individual activity access.

Event Logistics: You as the organizer, are responsible for arranging the meeting location (in-person, or virtual meeting platform of your choice).

About Your Activity:

This philanthropic virtual team building activity is all about building awareness around local and global challenges, raising funds for charity, and doing some good in the world with your colleagues. With the Virtual Do-Good Games, teams will compete to complete challenges revolving around themes like Clean Water and Food Insecurity, Health and Wellness, Community Support, and Environmental Awareness. For each challenge completed, teams will earn points that can be redeemed as donation dollars your organization can donate towards charity.

As the organizer, you pick a charity of your choice to receive a monetary donation. You can choose to tie in the points earned by each team as donation dollars, choose a pre-designated donation amount or simply have your group complete the activity, bringing awareness to important local and global causes.

Choosing a charity and making a monetary donation is not mandatory, you can also play the activity without making a donation. If you choose to donate to a charity you as the organizer are responsible for facilitating that transaction.

Participants will break out into teams and use Outback’s web application platform to participate in the Do-Good Games activity. Teams will complete challenges at their pace with the goal to gain as many points as possible. These challenges are designed to provoke thought, discussion, and action within teams. It’s not a race, teams are encouraged to take their time to think about each challenge carefully before submitting their response. There are no incorrect answers, each team is providing their ideas and plan of action as they make their way through the challenges.

Some challenges may require teams to create items. These challenges are meant to encourage teams to be creative in the materials they use, but you may want to prepare teams to have a pen and paper handy.

The activity challenge list is available at the bottom of this page under the resources section.

Prior to Your Activity:

  • Decide your meeting location. Will it be in person or virtual? Considerations when planning your event:
    • For Virtual events you will meet in a virtual meeting room. The team leader needs to have a web enabled mobile device which they will use to submit challenges on behalf of the team. The organizer needs to share the challenge list with participants so they can follow along with the team leader.
    • In-Person events will login via mobile device. Challenge lists can also be shared via link or printed copy if desired. Before introducing the activity, ensure everyone has what is needed to get started, strong Wi-Fi/data signal, a fully charged device and appropriate materials to participate.

  • Organize your participants into teams. Each team should have between 2-6 people and roughly the same number of people on each team. Small groups could play on one team if preferred.

  • Assign a team leader to each team. The team leader will be the only person signing into the app and submitting challenges on behalf of their team.

  • Communicate event details to your group. Ensure that all participants are aware of meeting location & start time.

Starting Your Activity:

  • Assemble participants in meeting location. Ensure all participants are in meeting area and have access to strong WiFi before starting the activity.

  • Introduce yourself & welcome group. You can use the “Sample Group Intro” in the resources section at the bottom of the page if you’d like. Explain what the activity is, how participants can access challenges and complete them, and the objective of the activity.

  • Instruct team leaders on how to sign into the application. Provide them with sign in details found in your confirmation email. A mobile device is recommended for this activity. Only team leaders require access to the application.

  • Provide your group with the guidelines for what time the activity will conclude and where they will be meeting. Also provide them with your contact information in case they need to reach out with any questions.

  • Have participants break out into teams and start the activity. Let teams know that they can start completing challenges!

During Your Activity:

As the organizer, your role during the activity is as follows:

  • Provide support for teams if they have any questions
  • Provide resources again if requested
  • OPTIONAL: visit teams throughout activity (may help to give insight into any highlights at the end of activity)
  • Review leaderboard & gauge teams’ progress
  • Manage time (IE: 15-minute warning before wrapping up)

App instructions can be found in the resources section at the bottom of this page.

Concluding Your Activity:

  • Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi/data signal so the submitted challenges have a chance to finish loading into the app.

  • Open your Leaderboard to see the final scores for each team.
    • If you have decided to make a monetary donation you can take this opportunity to share with the team the total amount being donated.
    • If you have chosen to tie in the points earned by each team as donation dollars, you can announce the total to the group at this time or simply share the pre-determined amount.

  • This is a good opportunity to encourage teams to Share any challenges that stood out to them and what they discovered as a result.  You can go through each of the specific causes and talk as a group at the end and even take away some action items to use within your organization and as individuals.
  • Present your teams’ photo and video submissions by opening the Event Wall.

After the event is done, you can download your media by following the Media Download Instructions included in the resources section at the bottom of the page. Enjoy the media submitted by your group!
